Junior Black Belt

A junior black belt is offered only to students who show a desire to continue training in the martial arts. It is not a goal, but a beginning. It is assumed that students who continue to Black are looking to make a long-term commitment to studying martial arts. Students will test in front of O-Sensei Yamashita, and the Black Belt Leadership team will determine what the individual student will demonstrate for their test.

Having a black belt at any age requires a certain level of maturity. Most students will not be offered a chance until they can continuously display that maturity, no matter their age.
